Donegal 2-19 Antrim 2-7
Derry 5-20 Fermanagh 0-3
Donegal and Derry remain unbeaten in the Ulster U20 Football Championship after both came through with comfortable victories over Antrim and Fermanagh.
Donegal turned on the power in the second half at Ballyshannon to rout Antrim by 2-19 to 2-7, making it three wins in three outings.
The home side eased ahead early on with scores from Alex Cunnea, Donnach O Baoill and Shane Callaghan, but Antrim drew level with a goal after 10 minutes.
After regaining their composure, Donegal added to their tally through Shane Callaghan, Callum McCrea and Kalvin McLaughlin, and tightened their grip on the contest with a Darragh Hennigan goal on 20 minutes.
A battling Saffron side struck for a second goal four minutes before the break through Ryan McKeever, and reached the halfway stage on level terms, 1-6 to 2-3.
Two-pointers from Callaghan and Lewis McCaughan saw the hosts ease ahead with the wind now in their backs, with further scores coming from Calvin McLaughlin, Callaghan and substitute Thomas Lenihan.
It was Lenihan who netted his side’s second goal seven minutes from the end, with another two-pointer from O Baoill completing a convincing success.
Derry handed out a heavy 5-20 to 0-3 beating to Fermanagh at Celtic Park to cement their position as major title contenders.
After Fermanagh had gone ahead early on with a Mattie McDermott two-pointer, Conal Higgins grabbed Derry’s first goal on 13 minutes, and they had the ball in the net again two minutes later when Luke Grant finished from close range.
Caoimhin Hargan, Conal Higgins and Michael Higgins added points, and they took control with a third goal from Ger Dillon just before half-time, sending them in at the break with a 3-9 to 0-2 advantage.
Conal Higgins steered over a two-point free and fired in his second goal of the game as the Oak Leafers continued to press forward relentlessly.
They completed the job in efficient fashion with a Jude Bryson goal and points from Caoimhin Hargan, Dylan Rocks, Padraig Haran, Johnny McGuckin and Dara Doherty.
A crunch tie which could decide the group sees Derry face Donegal at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening.
